About Goodness Gracious Sydney

Goodness Gracious Sydney is a catering business run by Rachel out of a commercial kitchen in St Peters, built around grazing tables, platters and grazing boxes. The focus is on what goes on the board rather than filler: premium Australian and European cheeses including double brie, brillat savarin, truffle pecorino, aged manchego and washed rind, alongside speciality charcuterie such as San Daniele prosciutto, casalingo salami, fennel sopressa and truffle squid ink salami. Cheese and meat are sliced on the premises the day before or the day of an event, and fruit comes from the markets rather than a supermarket. The centrepiece service is the grazing table, designed to brief and styled with the company's own stoneware, platters and one-off prop pieces. A breakfast and brunch version swaps in granola and yoghurt cups, artisan pastries, savoury tarts, smoked salmon blinis and banana bread, which suits launches, corporate mornings and high teas. Tables can be extended with cocktail quiches, sliders, gourmet sausage rolls and canapes such as gildas and prawn rolls, and a pastry chef the team works with can build a dessert component. For smaller groups there is an online range of grazing boxes, platters and brie cakes. A table takes one and a half to two hours to set up on site, and the quoted price covers food, styling, delivery and set-up. Boards, serve ware and display pieces stay the property of the business and come back cleaned within two days, with a refundable bond held against them. Online orders generally need 24 to 48 hours notice, delivery is free to some eastern suburbs and charged by location elsewhere, and pick-up from St Peters is an option. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.

Pricing

Grazing tables start from $1800 to $2000 plus GST for the listed inclusions, covering the food, styling and props, delivery and on-site set-up. Breakfast and brunch grazing tables are priced the same and require a minimum of 30 people. Florals and foliage sit outside that price; the team can supply them at extra cost and suggests a budget of $200 to $500. A refundable $450 bond is held against the prop pieces used on a table. Payment is 50 per cent on booking, which is non-refundable, with the balance seven days before the event. From the online range, grazing boxes start at $105 for a Baby GG serving two to three people, with a vegetarian box from $105 and a vegan box from $110, the GG Feast from $175 for four to six people and the Mega GG Feast from $269 for nine to twelve. Platters are $285 for ten people and $420 for eighteen. Brie cakes are $69 for the mini and $155 for the full cheesecake. All prices listed on the website include GST.

Service Details

Grazing tables are built to brief rather than to a fixed menu, and the team needs one and a half to two hours on site to set one up, depending on the size of the table. Everything is prepped in a commercially approved, food-safe kitchen in St Peters: cheese and charcuterie are sliced either the day before or the day of the event, and breads and breakfast pastries are sourced on the day. Spreads can take in cocktail quiches and frittatas, sliders, gourmet sausage rolls and mini pies, zucchini and bacon slices, falafel and canapes, and desserts can be arranged through a pastry chef the team works with. They will also work alongside a florist or other supplier you have already booked, and will style food you supply yourself onto the table using their own props. Grazing boxes, platters and brie cakes are ordered through the website and generally need 24 to 48 hours notice; delivery is free to some eastern suburbs and charged by location elsewhere, or you can collect from St Peters. Boards, serving equipment and display items must be returned cleaned within two days, or collected for a fee.

Frequently asked questions

What does a grazing table from Goodness Gracious Sydney cost?

Grazing tables start from $1800 to $2000 plus GST based on the standard inclusions. That price covers the food, the styling with the company's own props and serve ware, delivery and on-site set-up. Florals and foliage are not included, and the team suggests budgeting $200 to $500 if you want them added.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Grazing tables are quoted individually and the date is only held once a 50 per cent deposit is paid, with the balance due seven days before the event, so it pays to enquire early for a busy date. Grazing boxes, platters and brie cakes ordered through the website usually need 24 to 48 hours notice, and shorter notice is sometimes possible if you call.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

The breakfast and brunch grazing table has a stated minimum of 30 people. There is no minimum on the online range, so smaller gatherings are usually catered with boxes and platters instead: a Baby GG box covers two to three people, the GG Feast four to six, and platters run up to 18.

Which parts of Sydney do you deliver to?

Delivery covers a wide spread of Sydney suburbs, taking in the CBD, eastern suburbs, inner west, north shore, northern beaches, Hills district, Parramatta and the south. Delivery is free to some eastern suburbs and charged by location everywhere else, selected at checkout. Orders can also be collected from the St Peters kitchen.

What happens to the boards and props after the event?

All boards, serving equipment and display items belong to Goodness Gracious Sydney and have to be returned hand-washed and clean within two days of the event, or a pick-up can be arranged for a fee depending on distance. A refundable bond of $450 is held against the prop pieces used on a grazing table and released once everything is back and checked.
