About Cocktails & Canapés
Head chef Jane Strode set up Cocktails & Canapés after an apprenticeship with Neil Perry's Rockpool and years running kitchens around Sydney. The idea is that one company handles both the food and the drinks, with no separate bar team to book, and it caters private parties, corporate functions, brand and product launches, gala dinners and weddings. Each event gets its own menu. The chefs make canapes, grazing platters and three course menus from seasonal produce sourced from local growers and artisan suppliers, and if you'd rather pick than design, there's a set of sample menus. Behind the bar, the bartenders make classic or more inventive cocktails, can invent a drink for the occasion, and match wines to the food. Trained catering and bar staff work the event itself. Event management and styling are available as separate services too, covering venue sourcing, furniture and decor, lighting and sound, guest lists, run sheets and goodie bags, so you can book just the catering or hand over the entire event. The company has ties with Sydney venues including the North Bondi Surf Club, the Cell Block Theatre, the Blue Room in Bondi and Fairground Follies at Bowral, and past jobs include fashion week after parties, a Penfolds Grange anniversary and car launches. The service area takes in western Sydney, the Sutherland Shire, the Northern Beaches, the North Shore, the eastern suburbs, the inner west and the City of Sydney. Approximate numbers are needed two weeks ahead and final numbers five days out, and dietary needs are catered for with notice.

Service Details
Catering and bar staff are supplied on the day or night. Event management covers venue sourcing, guest lists, lighting and sound, run sheets and goodie bags, and event styling covers creative direction, furniture, decor and installation. The team works at private homes and at hired venues, with existing relationships at Sydney spaces including the North Bondi Surf Club, the Cell Block Theatre and the Blue Room in Bondi.
Numbers are needed roughly two weeks out and confirmed five days before the event, and dietary requirements are catered for with advance notice.

Rates aren't published, as each package is put together to fit the client's budget. Send your date, guest numbers and the format you're thinking of to get a quote.
How do payments work?
25 per cent is paid as a deposit when you confirm, another 50 per cent two months before the event, and the rest five days out.
When do I need to confirm guest numbers?
Give a close estimate two weeks ahead, then confirm final numbers five days before the event.
Which parts of Sydney do they cover?
Western Sydney, the Sutherland Shire, the Northern Beaches, the North Shore, the eastern suburbs, the inner west and the City of Sydney. They'll cater at your home or at a venue you've hired.
