Manhattan Superbowl occupies a building on Gardeners Road in Mascot that first became a bowling alley in 1961. After decades as offices, the original timber lanes were rediscovered under the carpet during renovations, and the site reopened for bowling in 1993. Today it has 24 lanes wrapped in mid-century Americana, with Route 66 memorabilia, the Pontiac Bar, a beer garden, a diner, an arcade with more than 30 games and a vintage photo booth. It works hand in hand with the Newmarket Hotel next door, so guests get a pub and a bowling alley in one visit. Casual bowling starts at $18 per adult for one game Monday to Thursday, and up to six people can share a lane. For adult birthdays, farewells, team events and social functions there are three packages, each based on at least 10 guests and including two games and a winner's trophy: Pins and Pizza, with shared wood-fired pizzas, from $55 per person midweek; Livin' on a Spare, with five food items, from $60; and High Roller, with seven items and charcuterie boards, from $70. Groups can run a bar tab with their own limit or pay as they go. Kids' parties start at $40 per child with a party host, bowling, a meal and arcade play, and there's a $50 teen package for ages 12 to 17. Lane bookings for up to 15 people can be requested online, and bigger groups should call the functions team; function packages need a 20% deposit. Bowling shoes are included in the rates and recommended, though flat sneakers are allowed. No outside food or drink is permitted apart from a birthday cake. Under-18s are welcome before 10pm, and after that only with a parent or guardian. Parking is in the private car park off Tramway Street, with street parking nearby.
