About Salt

Salt is an 84-foot Italian-designed motor cruiser in immaculate condition. On Sydney Harbour her licence covers 49 guests plus crew; once she heads out to sea, the limit is 12 passengers. She works as a cocktail boat for a big crowd or a private dining room for 10. At the front, the bow is open for sun and sea air. The outdoor saloon deck can be fully enclosed, so dinner goes ahead with the views intact when the weather changes. Inside, the air-conditioned main saloon has a 42-inch plasma TV with Foxtel and device connectivity for presentations or live sport, plus a dining table that seats 10. Upstairs, the flybridge has a leather lounge and an outdoor dining area. For longer or overnight charters, Salt's staterooms each have an ensuite, a TV and multi-zone sound, sleeping up to 6 guests. Catering and beverage packages are handled on board, with waitstaff matched to the size of your group.

Pricing

Salt is $1,250 per hour from April to October and $1,450 per hour from November to March, with a 4-hour minimum all year. Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Australia Day are charged at $1,900 per hour (4-hour minimum), with a 50% surcharge on waitstaff and all food and drink orders. Other public holidays attract a 20% surcharge. New Year's Eve runs from 6pm to 1am and costs $45,000 as a BYO charter or $53,500 with food and drinks, based on 40 guests, with extra guests up to 49 at $600 each BYO or $900 each all-inclusive.

Waitstaff are required by group size (1 for up to 15 guests, rising to 4 for 41 to 49) at $300 each for 4 hours, then $50 per hour. Wharf fees are $50 per wharf, with a $200 surcharge per wharf for Manly and Middle Harbour and $50 for Watsons Bay. A $2,000 deposit confirms the booking, the balance is due 14 days before the charter, and a $1,000 bond is refunded after the cruise.

Food

Salt's catering covers canapés and platters, buffet and banquet menus, BBQ menus and seated table dining, with the full menu supplied on enquiry. You can also bring your own food for $10 per person (minimum $250), which includes use of the cooking facilities and equipment. BYO charters are by application only in December.

Beverages

At $20 per person, per hour, the standard beverage package pours Chandon NV, Catalina Sounds Sauvignon Blanc, Petaluma White Label Chardonnay, Little Yering Pinot Noir, Cote des Roses rosé, Corona, Asahi, Cascade Premium Light, and soft drinks, juice and water. Spirits (vodka, gin, whisky, bourbon and rum with mixers) add $5 per person, per hour, or upgrade to Veuve Clicquot plus spirits for an extra $10. Shots aren't served. A consumption bar is also available with a $40 per person minimum spend, one extra waitstaff and payment at the end of the charter. Soft drinks and kids' drinks are $8 per person, per hour. BYO drinks are $20 per person, including ice, glassware and cool storage.

Wharfs & Availability

Salt is available by enquiry against the live calendar, with a 4-hour minimum charter. Longer and overnight charters can be arranged, with staterooms sleeping up to 6.

Pick-up and drop-off wharves are $50 each. Manly and Middle Harbour carry a $200 surcharge per wharf, and Watsons Bay a $50 surcharge per wharf.
