About Ben Fox Band

Ben Fox Band is a Sydney wedding and corporate entertainment act built around Ben Fox, a singer and acoustic guitarist with more than 20 years of professional experience. The idea is that one supplier handles the whole event: live acoustic music as guests arrive and through the ceremony, canapés and dinner, then either a DJ set, a live band or both once the dancing starts. Ben fronts every band size, so the voice and the sound stay consistent from the aisle to the last song. Line-ups run from a solo acoustic performer through to a duo, trio, quartet, quintet or larger party band. The most popular booking is the solo plus DJ package, which covers the ceremony, canapés and dinner live before switching to DJ mode for the reception. Where a full band is booked, Ben DJs through the band's breaks so the music does not stop. A saxophone player or percussionist can be added to the DJ set for a live element on the dance floor, and MC services are available for an additional cost. Every booking includes professional PA up to 5000 watts, wireless microphones for the reception formalities and lighting, with audio and lighting equipment included for functions under 200 guests. Where a ceremony or canapé site has no power, Ben brings battery powered equipment. He arrives at the reception venue about two hours before the ceremony to set up, then works to the run sheet on the day. Requests and special songs are welcome, and a song list is available to download from the site. Popular Friday and Saturday dates can book out up to two years ahead.

Performance Details

Bookings can be a solo acoustic performer, a duo, a trio, quartet, quintet or larger party band, a DJ set, or a combination of live music and DJ. Ben arrives at the reception venue around two hours before the ceremony to set up the PA, lighting and either the DJ or band equipment, then plays background music at the ceremony site as guests arrive. Ceremony songs are chosen by the couple for the aisle, the register signing and the recessional, and special songs can be learnt. Live sets are arranged around the run sheet so music keeps running whenever there are no formalities. Included equipment covers PA up to 5000 watts, wireless microphones and lighting, with battery powered speakers for locations without power. A saxophone player or percussionist can join the DJ set, and MC services can be added.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as possible, particularly for Friday and Saturday weddings, as popular dates can book out up to two years in advance. A date is only locked in once a booking agreement has been signed and the booking payment received.
