About Hunchy Hills Distillery
Hunchy Hills Distillery is a small, family-owned operation on Hunchy Road in the hinterland behind Nambour. A female distiller makes the spirits in short runs, using botanicals grown and gathered locally, across several gins along with vodkas and liqueurs. The main group experience is a gin-blending class held at the distillery itself. It is a private session for a minimum of two and a maximum of four guests, and it runs for about three hours. Your host starts with a guided look at the still and the production space, then pours tastings across the house gins, vodkas and liqueurs. From there each guest builds a gin recipe, then names it and labels a full 700ml bottle to take home. Because the class never takes more than four, it suits a small birthday, a gift for a gin fan or a quiet catch-up with close friends rather than a big party. Every Hunchy Hills bottle features artwork by Sunshine Coast painter Vanessa Perske, which gives the labels a story of their own. The site is licensed for adults only. Choose a time in the booking calendar, or send an enquiry to ask about dates.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can join the gin-blending class?
The class is built for small groups. It needs at least two guests and takes a maximum of four, so your group has the session to itself.
How much does the gin-blending class cost?
The class is $200 a person. That covers a guided distillery tour, tastings of the house spirits and the ingredients to blend, name and label your own 700ml gin.
How long does the experience take?
Allow about three hours. That gives time for the tour, a relaxed tasting and the blending and bottling of each guest's gin.
Do we take anything home from the class?
Yes. Every guest leaves with a 700ml bottle of the gin they blended, labelled with the name they chose for it during the session.
Can under-18s come along?
No. Hunchy Hills holds an artisan producer liquor licence and its site is restricted to adults aged 18 and over, so the tasting class is for adults only.
