About Epic Ocean Adventures
Epic Ocean Adventures is a Noosa eco-tour company running small-group trips by kayak, paddleboard and surfboard. It is a mobile operator, collecting guests from pick-up points around Noosa Heads, Noosaville and the North Shore ferry, then crossing the Noosa River and driving the beach in 4WD vehicles. Most trips head to Double Island Point, a headland in the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park reached only along the sand. The dolphin kayak tour is a six-hour day with about 90 minutes of guided paddling, and between June and October the whale kayak tour watches humpbacks moving past the point. The surf safari teaches beginners on long, easy point-break waves, and closer to town there are shorter kayak and stand up paddle tours through the mangrove tunnels of the Noosa Hidden Waterways. For groups, every tour can be run as a private option. The private day tour pairs a dedicated guide and 4WD with a trailer of sea kayaks, paddleboards, surfboards and snorkel gear, plus a picnic lunch, drinks and a shaded beach setup. The team also runs corporate and school group programs, with school days built around marine science, geography and cultural learning. Send an enquiry to plan a private or group day.

Frequently asked questions
How much do the tours cost?
The group dolphin kayak tour is listed at $172 a person and the seasonal whale kayak tour at $176. Private day tours start from $1,390 for the group, and custom school or corporate programs are quoted to suit.
Where do the tours leave from?
The team picks up from set points including The J Noosa on Noosa Drive, Noosa Heads Bus Station, Robert Street in Noosaville and the North Shore ferry in Tewantin, or from accommodation on request for private tours.
How long is a day at Double Island Point?
The kayak and surf tours take about six hours door to door, including the ferry crossing and beach drive, while the private day tour usually runs for around seven hours.
Are the tours suitable for children?
Yes, the dolphin tour is billed as kid-friendly. Let the team know about any child under seven so a car seat can be fitted, and children under eight in a group surf lesson need a parent in the water.
What should we bring?
Pack as you would for the beach: towel, sunscreen, water, a camera and a change of clothes. Bring lunch or filling snacks on the group tours, as only a light snack is supplied.
