About RoundAboat Noosa
RoundAboat hires out round, doughnut-shaped boats from a riverfront jetty in Noosaville. Each one seats up to 10 around a central table with an ice bucket, under full shade, with a Bluetooth speaker for the group's own music. Because everyone sits facing each other, the cruise feels more like a gathering than a boat ride. No boat licence is needed: the nominated driver must be over 21 with a car licence and stay off the alcohol, while a co-driver listens in on the briefing as backup. Staff point out the good spots along the Noosa River to anchor up and swim, though diving off the boat and fishing are not allowed. Everyone else can enjoy a drink on board, and life jackets and bin bags come with every hire. RoundAboat suits groups of friends, families, work parties and birthday celebrations, and kids and dogs are welcome aboard. Groups bring their own food and drinks, and a staff driver or an extra esky of ice can be added for a cost. How many people fit on a RoundAboat?
Each boat seats up to 10 people, little ones included. For a larger group you can ask about hiring all three boats together, which takes up to 30 guests.
Do we need a boat licence?
No boat licence is required. The nominated driver must be over 21, hold a car licence and not drink alcohol, and a co-driver also sits in on the instructions given before you head out.
What can we bring on board?
Bring a towel, a hat, food, drinks and a charged phone for music. The boat comes with an ice bucket full of ice, a Bluetooth speaker and life jackets, and a staff driver or an extra esky can be added for a fee.
Can we drink alcohol and swim from the boat?
Everyone except the driver can drink on board, and water police patrol the river. Swimming is fine at the spots shown in the briefing, but diving off the boat is not allowed and fishing gear stays ashore.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
If the Bureau of Meteorology forecasts severe weather the booking is stopped, and you can reschedule or take a gift voucher valid for 12 months. Date changes with three or more days notice are free, with a $50 fee inside that.
