About The Nook Cooroy
The Nook is a small independent venue in Cooroy, in the Noosa hinterland, set upstairs in the Cooroy Village Shopping Centre on the corner of Elm and Diamond Streets. Most nights it runs close-up live music, comedy and spoken word, and the room is also available for private hire. The space is styled like a speakeasy, with deep red curtains, plants, leather lounges and high bar tables. It seats 40, is soundproofed and has a fitted bar for your own supplies. The venue lists private events, business meetings, Christmas parties and workshops as the kinds of bookings it takes. Hirers have the whole room to themselves for the agreed time. The Nook is BYO for both food and drinks, so you can bring your own caterer or platters and stock the bar yourself. This keeps costs down for small celebrations and work gatherings. Sound is covered by an in-house PA with a powered mixer, passive speakers, a foldback speaker, microphones, stands and DI boxes. That makes speeches, a playlist or a live act straightforward. Saturday daytime hire is $45 an hour with a three-hour minimum, or $280 for a full day. Saturday night from 4pm to 10pm is $360, and extended night hire from 5pm to 1am on a Friday or Saturday is $550.
Most bookings carry a refundable bond of $200, or $500 for extended night hire. Bump-in and pack-down time is $25 an hour, and cleaning is $100 unless you do it yourself.
