School Formal Venues on the Southern Sunshine Coast

Choosing the Right School Formal Venue

The two southern formal venues are both in Caloundra, but they give the night quite different settings: a performing arts and conference building with a proscenium stage, or a racecourse whose rooms face the Winning Post and Mounting Yard.

How the two Caloundra formal venues line up:

Year group size: The Events Centre Caloundra's Kings Theatre suits 150 to 400 guests, and the Turf Club's Establishment 150 to 300.
Stage and presentations: the Kings Theatre's large stage suits presentations and entertainment, while the Turf Club's rooms come with sound and screens for a slideshow of the year.
Dinner: the Events Centre's banquet kitchen serves plated two- and three-course meals, and the Turf Club offers plated dinners alongside canapés.
Pricing: the Events Centre starts from $27 per person and the Turf Club from $60 per person; ask what each figure covers for a seated formal.
Access: lifts, accessible bathrooms and an undercover set-down point at the entrance make arrivals easier at the Events Centre.
