About Noosa Sound & Lighting
Noosa Sound & Lighting is a Sunshine Coast crew that combines DJs with the technical side of an event. Owner Joseph Groth has spent more than a decade DJing and running production, and the business supplies the music, the speakers and the lighting together, so one team looks after everything you hear and see on the night. The DJs come from a network the business works with, covering open-format, house, disco and commercial sets. You describe the crowd, the venue and the feel you want, and they pair you with a DJ to suit – a polished wedding DJ, a high-energy club selector or someone for a private party. MCs and event hosts are also available to handle announcements and keep the running order moving. Behind the music sits a full kit: PA systems and subwoofers tuned to the room, wired and wireless microphones for speeches, Pioneer DJ gear, moving-head lights, uplighting for walls and marquees, strobes, mirror balls and haze or low fog. The crew lays out the setup, manages power and cabling, stays on site to adjust things during the event and packs down at the end. For weddings they look after the ceremony audio, the reception DJ and the dancefloor lighting, and work with your planner or venue on timings for speeches, the first dance and the cake. Prices are quoted for each event after a conversation about your date, venue and budget.

Frequently asked questions
Does Noosa Sound & Lighting supply the DJ as well as the equipment?
Yes. The business books DJs from its own network for weddings, private parties, corporate events and club nights, and brings the PA, microphones and lighting so the music and production come from one team.
What music styles do the DJs play?
Sets range over open-format, house, disco and commercial styles. The crew matches a DJ to your guests and venue, from relaxed dinner music through to a busy dance floor later in the night.
What is usually included for a wedding?
A typical wedding setup covers ceremony audio with microphones and music playback, a reception DJ, lighting for the dance floor and the room, plus a technician on the day who follows your run sheet for speeches and key moments.
Can they work with our venue's own sound system?
Yes. The team has worked in beachside marquees, function centres and clubs, and will look at the space, respect whatever rules the venue sets and plan gear to suit, sorting out power, bump-in times and access ahead of the event.
How far ahead should we book?
Booking early is advised, particularly for weddings and the busier months from September to April. Late requests are still worth asking about, as the crew has taken on plenty of short-notice events.
