Worth a look for a hens party: Running With Thieves, a South Fremantle brewery and distillery with function spaces for up to 400 guests.

How to Choose the Right Hens Party Venue

Hens groups looking around Greater Fremantle will find their listed option on Marine Terrace in South Fremantle. Running With Thieves brews beer and distils spirits in a wool store around 140 years old, and its bar mixes signature cocktails from what it makes.

The choice for a hen comes down to mood: an intimate lounge, a dining room above the brewing floor, or a standing party beside the barrels.

Three moods, one South Fremantle building:

Intimate: the Henry Simm Room is lit in amber and styled on a whisky bar, seating 10 or standing 25.
Sit-down: the upstairs Private Dining and Function Room seats 60 for a long meal and overlooks the brewery floor.
Party: the Marine Tce Barrel Wall area spills onto the verandah and takes 64 seated or 200 standing.
Food: everything is made to share, from platters to standing and seated packages, which start at $45 per person.
Drinks: the house beer, spirits and cocktails are all produced under the same roof.

The Henry Simm Room and the upstairs room both come without a hire fee, so the budget can go on food and cocktails.
Packages need 16 guests or more, so a smaller hens group can order platters instead.
A weekend booking at the Barrel Wall carries a minimum spend from Thursday, while an early-week one does not.
A seated package sits alongside the two standing ones, which suits a long hens lunch more than a cocktail crowd.
