About Prescription Entertainment
Prescription Entertainment is a Perth DJ business that pitches itself as more than a music service. It plays weddings, gala dinners, school functions and home parties, and packages run from a basic DJ booking through to a full event production with lighting and special effects. The effects side is a real strength. Clients can add cold spark machines for a bridal or debutante entrance, low-lying fog for a first dance, haze, bubble haze and moving-head lighting, along with an LED light-up dance floor. Spark machines are only ever set up and operated by trained technicians, and the team also hires speakers, festoon lighting, wine barrels, heaters and lounge settings for backyard events. Couples and families who have booked the DJ describe a planning process that covers key moments such as cake cutting and the bouquet toss, and a DJ who reads the room and keeps the floor busy. The team works alongside the venue, the MC, the photographer and the videographer so the night runs to schedule. Song requests should be sent through at least a week before the event so the DJ can source them, and the DJ plays from their own library rather than a guest's phone. For bookings longer than four hours, a crew meal is expected. Each package is quoted to suit the function.

Frequently asked questions
What events does Prescription Entertainment play?
The team DJs weddings, gala dinners, school balls and other school functions, 18th birthdays, Christmas parties and backyard parties, with packages sized to the event.
Can Prescription Entertainment add lighting and effects?
Yes. Options include cold spark machines, low fog, haze, bubble haze, moving-head and wash lighting, festoon lighting and an LED light-up dance floor, set up by the crew.
How do song requests work?
Send specific requests at least seven days before the event so the DJ can source them. Requests made later are noted on the night, and the DJ does not play from guests' phones.
Are there rules for the LED dance floor?
The floor resists spills but is not waterproof, so spills should be dried during the night. Furniture should not be dragged across it, and metal-soled shoes and dry ice effects are not allowed on it.
What does a DJ package cost?
DJ packages are quoted per event. Individual effects are priced on the hire page, for example a cold spark machine at $143 and a low fog machine at $275 each.
