The Wedding Host is James Beecroft, a Perth wedding MC and DJ who is also an authorised marriage celebrant. Couples can book him for one role or hand him the whole day, so the person who marries them is the same one who introduces the speeches and fills the dance floor later that night. Music is the thread through everything he does. He has been mixing for most of his life, and he talks with each couple about the sound they want for the early evening and for party time. Requests can be a short list of must-play songs or a detailed brief, and he prepares custom edits so songs land on cue for moments like the walk down the aisle or the signing. Planning follows a clear path. After a first exchange to confirm the date and venue, he meets the couple in person, a deposit holds the date, and he then writes the ceremony and puts together the reception script and playlists. As MC he keeps the formalities moving and the room informed, so guests know when to listen and when to get up and dance. On the day he arrives early to set up the ceremony audio and get the paperwork ready, and if he is also the DJ, the reception sound and lighting are in place before guests sit down. After the wedding he lodges the marriage documents and passes on the forms couples need for a name change. Every booking is quoted to suit the roles chosen and the venue.

Yes. James is a marriage celebrant as well as an MC and DJ, so couples can book him for the ceremony, the reception or the full day with one person running everything.
How is the music for our reception chosen?
At the first meeting he asks about your taste and the feel you want for both the dinner part of the evening and the dancing later. Your requests can be as general or as detailed as you like, and the playlists are finalised before the day.
Do we need to supply sound or lighting equipment?
No. When he is booked as the DJ he brings his own audio and lighting and has it set up before the reception begins, then comes straight across from the ceremony.
What does the booking process look like?
A short first exchange confirms your date, venue and pricing, followed by an in-person meeting. A deposit secures the date, then the ceremony and reception script and playlists are prepared ahead of the wedding.
Does he run a rehearsal before the ceremony?
Most ceremonies do not need one, since he guides everyone on the day and holds a final meeting in the weeks before. If your ceremony is more involved and you want a rehearsal, he is happy to run one.
