About The Fifth Wine Bar
The Fifth Wine Bar is a small, wine-focused bar at 42 Hall Street in Newport, on the suburb's main shopping strip. Its list leans on Victorian producers, alongside Australian and international bottles, and the kitchen serves cheese, charcuterie and share plates. Because the bar is compact, functions take over the whole venue rather than a corner of it. You and your guests have the room to yourselves for the booked time, with indoor tables and some outdoor seating, and the event is run by the bar's own staff. Private events suit groups of at least 20 and up to 40 people. Hosts can bring decorations and a cake, and the bar will either play its own music or use a playlist you supply. Food comes as canapé packages drawn from local suppliers. The five-item package is $35 per person and the seven-item package is $45 per person, mixing small bites such as tartlets, pies and arancini with larger hand-held serves such as bao buns, sliders and a grazing board. The three-hour beverage package is $45 per person and covers sparkling, white, red and rosé wines, two tap beers, cider, soft drinks and non-alcoholic options. Cocktails and standard spirits can be added for an extra charge. Functions run between midday and 11pm from Wednesday to Sunday, subject to other bookings and licensing. Small items include goats cheese tartlets, roast beef crostini, smoked salmon blinis, pies, arancini and samosas, and larger serves include meatballs, pork belly bao buns, cheeseburger sliders, a grazing board and a burrata bowl. Vegetarian options are offered and dietary needs are accommodated where possible.

Two cocktails of your choice can be added for $15 per person, or standard spirits for $10 per person.

Midday to 3pm on weekends can be requested, and the bar can tailor a shorter or longer time frame.
What food packages are available?
There are two canapé packages: five items (three small and two large) for $35 per person, or seven items (four small and three large) for $45 per person. Vegetarian options are available, and the team will try to accommodate dietary requirements if you let them know.

How does the booking and payment process work?
A 10% deposit is taken when you book, and the balance is paid the day before the event. Final guest numbers and food and drink choices are confirmed 14 days ahead, and the deposit is refunded in full if you cancel at least 14 days before the date.
