About Skyways Hotel
Skyways Hotel is a large suburban pub on Matthews Avenue in Airport West, close to the Westfield shopping centre and a tram stop, with plenty of parking on site. Day to day it runs a family bistro, a sports bar with big screens and a pool table, and guest accommodation. Functions centre on the Banquet Room, an upstairs space with a central dance floor, a raised stage, its own bar and an outdoor smoking terrace. It holds 300 for a stand-up party or 250 theatre style. Seated at round tables it takes 160, or 130 when the dance floor is left clear. For smaller groups there is a semi-private beer garden for up to 50, with a mix of bench seating and standing room. A separate Conference Room seats 12 around a boardroom table or 25 theatre style, and suits meetings and training days rather than parties. Food comes from the pub kitchen as cocktail platters, a self-serve buffet or a plated set menu. Platter choices run from sandwiches, dips and pinsa bread to pies, sliders, chicken tenders, vegetarian bites and churros. The buffet and set menus need at least 40 adults. Two all-inclusive cocktail packages bundle room hire, staff, platters and a bar tab, one sized for up to 80 guests and one for bigger crowds. Banquet Room hire covers five hours with a tea and coffee station, Wi-Fi and a microphone, and a projector and screen can be added for a small fee. No. The upstairs function space is reached by stairs only, so guests with limited mobility should keep this in mind when planning.
