About Surfers Paradise Watersports
Surfers Paradise Watersports runs guided jet ski tours and parasail flights from its base at Paradise Point. The family-run team has more than 20 years of experience, and moved north so riders spend less time in the slow zones further down the Broadwater. Jet ski tours run from a quick 15-minute ride up to a 2-hour trip with a stop on South Stradbroke Island. Ride solo or share a ski with a mate, and no marine licence is needed for the guided tours. The island tours pass the Sovereign Islands and pull in at Tipplers for a drink and a look at the local wildlife. Parasail flights take one, two or three people up to around 350 feet for about 10 minutes in the air. Take-off and landing happen on the boat deck, so you can stay dry unless you ask for a foot dip. Up to 10 people fit on the boat, and everyone takes a turn while the rest watch on. Groups are a big part of the business. Corporate teams can use a ride as a team day, incentive or off-site meeting, while bucks crews and sports clubs tend to go for ski races and a parasail to finish. Barbecues overlooking the water are available for a longer day, and large family outings can go under one reservation. Do we need a licence to ride the jet skis?
No marine licence is needed for the guided tours, as a licensed guide leads the group the whole way. Allow an extra 30 minutes before departure for the safety briefing and fitting.
What are the age limits for jet skis and parasailing?
Drivers aged 18 and over can ride on their own, and 16 and 17 year olds can drive with a parent or guardian signing the waiver. Ski passengers must be at least 12, and parasailing starts at age 8.
Can a bucks party or work team get a group rate?
Yes. Bucks crews, sports clubs and corporate groups are all taken, with group rates quoted to suit your numbers. Corporate discounts may apply, so send an enquiry with your group size.
How do the parasail weight limits work?
Solo flyers need to weigh between 60kg and 120kg, and tandem or triple flights can carry up to 200kg combined. The captain sets the final limits on the day according to the wind.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
Rides only go out in safe conditions. If weather or a mechanical issue cancels your tour, it is rescheduled at no extra cost, and you get a full refund if a new time cannot be found.
