About Sports Bar @ Runaway Bay Tavern
Runaway Bay Tavern is a local pub on Lae Drive with a bistro, beer garden and sports bar. The Sports Bar is its one fully private function space, and it is built around big screens and a busy bar. The room takes up to 170 guests for a casual function. It suits work get-togethers, sporting club celebrations, birthdays and game-day groups who want to stay for the afternoon or the night. A covered outdoor patio connects to the bar and takes up to 200 on its own booking. It stays open as the route to the smoking area, so other guests may walk through. Sections of the patio also suit 40 to 60. Food comes as share platters of 30 pieces, each serving 8 to 10 people. Choices range from party pies and sausage rolls to sliders, wings, antipasto, sandwiches, fruit and sweets, and the menu flags vegetarian, vegan, low gluten and low dairy items. The drinks package runs for two, three or four hours across Standard, Premium and Deluxe levels. A bar tab with a limit you set, or a cash bar, works just as well, and cocktails on arrival can be added to a package. Decorations are welcome if fixed with Blu-Tack or similar, and cakes carry no cakeage fee. Security may be needed depending on the function, and it is arranged through the venue.

Platters cost $75 to $150 each. A cocktail on arrival adds $18 per cocktail, and a spirit upgrade adds $29 per person for groups of 20 or more. Where security is required, it costs $50 an hour with a four-hour minimum.

What drinks packages are offered?
Standard costs $48 per person for two hours, $61 for three and $75 for four. Premium runs from $59 per person and Deluxe from $71 per person. A bar tab or cash bar is also available.
What food can we order?
Share platters are the function food, from $75 for wings up to $150 for mixed sliders. Each has 30 pieces, enough for 8 to 10 people, and dietary needs should be noted when you book.
Can we bring a cake and decorations?
Yes, you can bring a cake with no cakeage fee. Decorations should go up with Blu-Tack or similar, and the venue can supply helium balloons at $1 each.
Can under-18s come to a function?
Yes, if a parent or legal guardian supervises them at all times. All minors must be off the premises by 10pm.
