About Riverwood Weddings
Riverwood Weddings is a family home on 10 acres at Maudsland, beside the Coomera River in the Guanaba Valley. The family has lived here for about 30 years and planted much of the garden themselves. The property works as a blank outdoor canvas rather than a set function room. Couples have used large tipis, white sail tents, clear-roof marquees and open-air canopies of festoon lights, all brought in for the day. The full day takes place on site, from ceremony through canapés to reception. A bonfire pit gives guests somewhere to gather after dark, and the riverbank makes a natural spot for the ceremony. Facilities include bathrooms, on-site parking, a catering area, power and water, a large industrial cool room and wifi. The site also lists disabled access. Food and drink are up to you. Past weddings have used banquet caterers, food trucks and mobile bars, and furniture and styling usually come from hire companies. The council licence allows 15 full wedding events a year, on Fridays and Saturdays only, for up to 100 guests with an 11pm curfew. There is no accommodation on the property, and an on-the-day coordinator is needed if you are planning it yourself.

Frequently asked questions
How many guests can Riverwood hold?
The licence covers up to 100 guests. Pricing is tiered, with separate full wedding rates for 50 guests and for 100.
Which days can we get married here?
Fridays and Saturdays only, for a maximum of 15 weddings each year. The family prefers to leave a gap of one to two weeks between bookings.
Is there a marquee on site?
No permanent structure is described. Couples bring in tipis, marquees, sail tents or festoon lighting through hire companies, which is what makes it a blank canvas.
Can our dog come to the ceremony?
Yes. The venue is pet friendly for the ceremony, and a number of past weddings have had a dog as an attendant.
Can guests stay on the property?
No, because this is a private residence with no accommodation on site. Viewings are also limited to scheduled small-group tours around existing bookings.
