About Montara Hall
Montara Hall is a timber community hall from the 1940s, set on a fifth-generation dairy farm on Beechmont Road in the Gold Coast hinterland. It looks out over the ranges, and the farm's cows and goats wander past. Every booking is exclusive, so the hall and grounds belong to your group alone. The hall covers 500 square metres, with timber ceilings, large windows, a raised stage with lighting and a generous dance floor. It seats 100 for a reception and handles 150 or more for cocktails. More seating can be hired. Outside, a full-length deck strung with festoon lights runs along the building and faces the sunset. Below it are a spacious lawn used for ceremonies and a fire pit ringed with benches. There are wet weather options too. This is a BYO and DIY venue, so you bring your own caterer, drinks and styling. The hall has a large bar with fridges, an ice machine and kegerators, plus a catering kitchen. Alcohol must be served by an RSA-certified bartender, and weddings need an on-the-day coordinator. Packages cover a weekday elopement for up to 40, an intimate 6-hour wedding for up to 80, a full wedding day for up to 150, and a 6-hour reception or engagement party. Birthdays, christenings, corporate days, concerts and markets can also be arranged. Music stops at 10.30pm and guests leave by 11pm. An off-grid battery system keeps power on during an outage, and sound and audio-visual gear can be added for a fee.

Frequently asked questions
Can we bring our own food and alcohol?
Yes, Montara Hall is BYO. You can use your own caterer or food van, or self-cater. All alcohol must be served by an RSA-accredited bartender, as the venue isn't licensed and doesn't sell drinks.
How many guests can the hall hold?
Up to 150 guests or more for a cocktail event. Receptions seat 100, or more if you hire extra seating.
What time does the event have to finish?
There is a strict noise curfew. Music goes off at 10.30pm, and guests must leave by 11pm.
Who cleans up after the event?
You leave the venue as you found it. If you would prefer not to, cleaning can be arranged for an extra charge.
Can guests get an Uber home?
Taxis and rideshare don't service pick-ups at the hall and there is no public transport, so a hire bus or pre-booked private car is recommended. Parking is available for 35 cars in the main carpark, with more in the paddock and on the roadside.
