About Married by Britt
Married by Britt is the celebrant business of Brittany, who goes by Britt and lives on the Gold Coast. Her starting point is simple: a ceremony should sound like the two people getting married, so she has little patience for the idea that this is the dull part of the day. Britt splits her working life between weddings and the classroom. She has spent 12 years teaching teenagers and children, which means holding the attention of a crowd comes naturally. Her own students describe her as bubbly and ridiculously organised, and both traits show up in how she runs a ceremony. Expect a ceremony that feels vibrant and engaging, with room for modern touches and whatever ideas you bring along. She is happy to give an unusual request a proper try, and she encourages couples to meet her and ask plenty of questions before deciding whether she suits them. There are a few options beyond a standard ceremony. Celebuddy suits couples who would love a friend to stand up front: Britt takes care of the legal requirements and helps that friend along the way, at the same fee as her short and sweet ceremony. MC work can be added to a package if you want the same voice carrying on into the reception. There is a personal side to the business too. Britt's dad lived with dementia, and she gives 10% of her profit from each celebration to Dementia Australia, so your wedding also supports research and care. Send an enquiry with your venue and date to find out whether she is free.

Frequently asked questions
What kind of ceremony does Britt run?
Her ceremonies are lively and personal, with plenty of humour. She builds each one around the couple's personality and is keen to work in modern trends or your own ideas.
Can a friend officiate our wedding instead?
Yes, through her Celebuddy option. Your friend leads the ceremony while Britt completes the legal work and supports them along the way, for the same fee as a short and sweet ceremony.
Does Britt also work as an MC?
MC duties are available as an add-on to her ceremony packages, so couples can keep one familiar person hosting once the formalities are finished.
Is there a travel fee for Gold Coast weddings?
Her travel fee applies to weddings outside the Gold Coast and is worked out from your location, so ceremonies on the Gold Coast itself do not attract it.
Does our booking support a charity?
Yes. Britt donates 10% of her profit from every celebration she officiates to Dementia Australia, in honour of her dad and everyone else living with the condition.
