Gold Coast Wedding Celebrant is the business of Helen Murray, a marriage celebrant of 15 years who has led more than 1,600 ceremonies. She has a particular focus on weekday weddings, which suits couples planning a quieter date away from the Saturday rush. Before she became a celebrant, Helen spent over 25 years in hospitality and worked as a cabin supervisor with an airline. That time with the public shapes her manner on the day. She aims to put couples and guests at ease and is happy to share a few laughs along the way. The process begins with a meeting that carries no obligation, where you talk through the style of ceremony you want. If you decide to go ahead, you complete the Notice of Intended Marriage form. Helen then writes a draft from that conversation and sends it to you for comments. A traditional ceremony can take in a candle lighting, wine or sand ritual, or a cultural element of your choosing. A PA system, signing pen and rehearsal are provided, and a bound copy of the ceremony can be arranged as a keepsake. Helen has married couples in chapels and parklands, in bush settings, on beaches and clifftops, and at resorts, hotels and golf courses all over the Gold Coast. What does Helen charge for a wedding ceremony?
Her starting fee is $350. Talk through the type of ceremony and location you have in mind at the first meeting so she can confirm the fee for your day.
Why does she specialise in weekday weddings?
Weekday weddings are the focus she promotes above all else on her site. Couples planning a Monday to Friday date will find she is well practised in that style of day.
What equipment does she bring?
Helen supplies a good quality PA system for the ceremony as well as a pen for signing the paperwork. A rehearsal is also part of her service.
Can we include rituals in the ceremony?
Yes. Alongside a traditional format she can include a candle lighting, a wine ceremony, a sand ceremony or the cultural elements that matter to your families.
Do we get to see the ceremony before the day?
You do. After your first meeting Helen drafts the ceremony from what you discussed and sends it through, so you can consider it and offer comments.
