About Bienarté
Bienarté is a Brisbane painting school known for weekly classes, weekend workshops and life drawing, and it also opens its studio to private groups for a relaxed watercolour paint and sip. No experience is needed, so it works for teams where nobody has picked up a brush in years. Each session opens with a tutor demonstration before everyone gets started on their own piece. Guests choose from several subjects and can trace one of three stencils designed for the class or simply paint freehand. Watercolour paints, good-quality paper and an A5 frame for each finished painting are all supplied, so people head home with something ready to hang. Drinks and snacks are BYO, and glassware is provided when the event is held at the studio. The format suits corporate teams, social clubs and end-of-year break-ups, and the school takes both small and large groups. Events run in the air-conditioned studio, where guests pass a gallery of work by principal tutor Marcel Desbiens and his students, or the tutors can set up at your workplace instead. Corporate bookings need two weeks' notice and final numbers the day before, so send an enquiry early to lock in a date.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a private paint and sip cost at Bienarté?
The private watercolour session has a minimum charge of $650, which covers up to 10 people. Each extra guest beyond 10 is $65, and the $650 is paid as a deposit with the rest due a week before the event.
Do we need any painting experience?
No. The session is designed for complete beginners. A tutor demonstrates the watercolour techniques first, and guests can use one of three custom stencils or paint freely if they prefer.
Can we bring our own drinks and food?
Yes. Guests bring whatever they would like to drink and are welcome to bring nibbles as well. When the session is held at the studio, disposable glassware is provided.
Can Bienarté run the session at our office?
Yes. Groups can come to Bienarté's own air-conditioned studio or have the tutors set up at their workplace. Corporate events can also be held outside normal business hours.
How far ahead should a corporate group book?
Corporate workshops need to be booked at least two weeks in advance, and the final head count must be confirmed 24 hours before the session so materials can be prepared.
