About NY Party Hire

NY Party Hire has been putting marquees up for Sydney events since 2012, working out of a warehouse at Unit 17, 5 Hudson Ave in Castle Hill. The pop-up range covers 3m x 6m, 6m x 6m and 6m x 9m, and base units combine in 3m increments so a run of cover can be shaped to the site. Above that sit structured marquees on heavy-duty aluminium frames, available in 6m, 8m and 10m spans and configurable in 3m lengths, with either a clear PVC roof for natural light or a solid white roof. Pop-ups suit up to around 80 guests, while structured marquees are the choice from about 60 up to 300 or more. Because the same warehouse stocks Tiffany and Chanel chairs, round and trestle tables, linen, cocktail and glow furniture, backdrops, plinths and neon signs, a marquee normally goes out as part of a single order rather than three separate deliveries. The team also lists pre-built combinations: prop hire packages, cocktail party packages and glow party packages in sizes from mini to extra large, or a custom quote built around a guest count. Installation is not optional. Every marquee is delivered, erected, anchored and checked by the NY Party Hire crew, and no marquee can be collected or put up by the customer. Anchoring is matched to the ground, with pegs on grass, ballast weights on concrete and pavers, strap anchoring with weights on decking and tiles, and weights only in council parks where pegging is banned. Side walls are recommended for evening events, the cooler May to August months and wind-exposed sites. Two to four weeks notice covers most dates, while the October to March peak fills six to eight weeks ahead.

Pop-up marquee hire starts at $100 plus GST for a 3m x 6m, $200 plus GST for a 6m x 6m and $300 plus GST for a 6m x 9m, all excluding setup. Side walls and the structured marquee range are quoted on enquiry against span, length and configuration. Other hire is priced by the item: Tiffany chairs from $4 plus GST, gladiator chairs $2.50, white plastic chairs $0.75, Tiffany bar chairs $7, peacock chairs $80, glow cube seats $15, backdrops from $75, LED neon signs $60, marquee light numbers $50 and the LOVE letters $200. Package pricing is published too, with prop hire from $130, cocktail party packages from $220 to $800 and glow party packages from $250 to $1,000. Delivery is quoted separately.

Equipment & Service Details

The standard hire period is a single day, and shorter windows can be discussed. All marquees are delivered, installed, anchored, checked and later dismantled by the NY Party Hire crew, and customer self-setup and self-collection are not available on any marquee. Setup and pack-down on other hire items is an optional extra for a fee. Anchoring is chosen for the surface, using ground pegs on grass, ballast weights on concrete and pavers, strap anchoring with weights on decking and tiles, and weights only in public parks. Side walls can be added for wind, rain, privacy or the cooler months. The delivery fee is worked out from the size of the order, the venue location, the distance items must be carried, any steps, ramps or lift access, and the bump-in and bump-out times, with early morning and late-night windows on request. Hire items are cleaned and checked before dispatch. No bond or damage charge is published, so confirm that at the time of booking.

How far ahead should I book?

For most mid-week and off-peak weekend dates two to four weeks is usually enough. Weekends between October and March are Sydney's busiest outdoor season and marquees there tend to be committed six to eight weeks or more in advance, so weddings and larger structured marquee jobs are worth locking in early.

Which parts of Sydney do they cover?

All of it. The Castle Hill warehouse services the Hills District, North Shore, Parramatta and the greater west, the Inner West, Eastern Suburbs and southern Sydney. Early morning and late-night delivery windows are available for venues with tight bump-in and bump-out rules.

Can a marquee go on concrete or in a park?

Yes to both. On grass the crew uses ground pegs, on concrete and pavers ballast weights hold the frame with no drilling, and on decking or tiles straps and weights are used. Public parks are weights only, since most councils prohibit pegging. The crew assesses the surface and applies the right method when they arrive.
