About Book A Hummer

Book A Hummer is a family-run Sydney chauffeur business that has been hiring out stretch Hummers since 2002, working from a showroom at Five Dock roughly 8km from the CBD. Two H2 super-stretch Hummers head the fleet, one a 15 seater and one a 17 seater, both over 8.5 metres long. Alongside them sit a Chrysler 300C stretch seating 12, a Mercedes S-Class super stretch seating 10, a Cadillac Escalade seating six, Mercedes and Chrysler sedans, Mercedes convertibles, an Audi Q7 and a Maserati Quattroporte. The company holds NSW Department of Transport accreditation number 8025 and drives its own cars rather than passing bookings on. There is no price list. Every job is quoted on how long you need the vehicle, where it is picking up and dropping off and how many people are travelling, with a minimum hire time of one hour. Straight transfers can be arranged if you only need a lift each way, and wedding cars are generally supplied for at least two hours. A deposit of $440 holds a Hummer and $220 holds any other vehicle. Inside the Hummers there is a colour-changing illuminated dance floor, laser and disco lighting, LED under-car lighting, a mirrored ceiling with fibre optic lights, multiple LCD screens, a CD and DVD system with subwoofer and a karaoke machine with two microphones and hundreds of songs. Bars are stocked with soft drinks, bottled water, ice and glassware, and guests can bring their own premixed drinks provided everyone on board is over 18. All vehicles are non-smoking and intoxicated passengers are not carried. Because the Hummers are 8.5 metres long and 2.1 metres high, the driver will pull up as close as is safe where a street or venue cannot take the vehicle.

Book A Hummer does not publish a price list. Every booking is quoted on how long you need the vehicle, where it is picking up and dropping off, and how many passengers are travelling, and hourly rates are calculated base to base. A deposit of $440 per Hummer or $220 per other vehicle, plus a valid credit card, secures the date. General hire is finalised on arrival at the pick-up location and wedding bookings are finalised at least three days beforehand. Credit card payments attract a surcharge of 2 per cent on Visa and Mastercard, 3 per cent on American Express and 4.5 per cent on Diners Club. Cancellations within 28 days of a general hire booking, or within three months of a wedding, are charged in full.

Red carpet and tyre covers for dress protection are available on request, and child restraints must be supplied for children under seven. Because the Hummers are 8.5 metres long and 2.1 metres high, the driver will stop as close to a venue as is safely possible where access is tight.

Pick-ups run across Sydney, including the CBD, north shore, eastern, western and southern suburbs, Hills District, Ryde, Parramatta and Penrith, and they also travel to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Illawarra and the Hunter Valley. For school formals and graduations, start looking three to four months out; wedding cars are often booked 12 months ahead.
