About Andre's Hire
Australian-owned and run by a family, Andre's Hire has spent more than thirty years supplying Sydney functions from its showroom and warehouse at 67 Dickson Avenue, Artarmon. Everything is for hire, not sale, and the stock is geared to events: furniture, linen, lighting and decor, crockery and cutlery, glassware and silverware, and bar and catering equipment. Clients range from private hosts and event planners to corporates, caterers and community groups, and the equipment is a regular sight at Carriageworks, Paddington Town Hall, Fort Denison and the Botanic Gardens lawns, as well as plenty of harbourside clubs and galleries. The ranges go deep and lean on well-known names. On the crockery side there's Wedgwood, Royal Doulton and Villeroy and Boch, plus the black Nero line and vintage trios for high tea. Glasses include Schott Zwiesel, Plumm crystal and Arcoroc, with polycarbonate for pools and outdoor sites. Cutlery is available in gold, copper, black and bamboo as well as several classic patterns. Seating takes in cross-backs, folding and bentwood chairs, timber benches, high chairs and tolix-style stools, while the banquette tables join in one-metre sections seating between eight and thirty-two. Extras include heaters, partitions, market umbrellas, glow balls, candelabras, lighting and three-tier cake stands, and the website carries styling guides for weddings, high teas, christenings, dinner and cocktail parties, conferences, corporate events, school fundraisers and vintage themes. There are no set prices. Add items to the quote cart on the website, and the office replies with an itemised quote on the same or the next business day. Delivery and collection are extra and priced by suburb, on the assumption of standard access, meaning the truck can park within twenty metres. Harder access is billed as labour, at $44 per man hour with GST included. Sydney is covered by five small trucks, which also run down to Wollongong. Showroom visits are by appointment, while the office and warehouse operate Monday to Friday.

Delivery and pick-up are quoted separately for the delivery suburb and assume standard access within twenty metres of the truck; where access is difficult, extra time is charged as labour at $44 per man hour including GST, and specific timing requests can also add a charge. Amex payments carry a 3 per cent administration fee and company Visa or Mastercard 2.2 per cent.
Equipment & Service Details
Delivery is to the front door or an agreed drop-off point and is quoted on the suburb, with delivery and collection times set out in the hire agreement. Instead of a cash bond, a credit card is held as security and a deposit of half the hire amount is paid a week before delivery, or two weeks during November and December.
Insurance and security of the equipment sit with the hirer for the length of the hire, and anything lost, broken or damaged is charged at full replacement value. Quantities should be checked against the tax invoice on arrival and any shortfall reported by phone straight away.
Items come back clean, linen comes back dry, and everything is repacked into the containers it arrived in. Extending a hire is possible if the office is told before the period ends.

How do I get a price?
The product pages don't list prices. Put what you need in the quote cart, add your event details and send it, and the team replies the same day or by the next business day with an itemised quote. You pay for the whole booked period rather than the hours you actually use, plus GST.
How far ahead should I book, and is a deposit required?
To hold stock for you, a valid credit card is kept on file as security. Half the hire amount is payable as a security deposit no later than a week before delivery, or two weeks ahead for deliveries from 1 November through 31 December. There's no charge for cancelling more than 30 days ahead. Cancelling 8 to 30 days out costs 35 per cent of the hire, 3 to 7 days out costs half, 1 to 2 days out three quarters, and on the day the whole invoice.
Do they deliver, and how far?
Yes. The trucks cover Sydney, from the CBD out to the eastern and western suburbs, the Hills District, the North Shore and the Sutherland Shire, and as far as Wollongong. With five small trucks, narrow driveways, laneways and tight spots can be managed. Delivery and collection are quoted separately by suburb, assuming the truck can park within twenty metres (standard access).
What condition do items need to come back in?
Crockery, cutlery, glassware and barbecues need to come back clean, otherwise a cleaning fee is charged, and a deep fryer returned with oil in it attracts a fee for cleaning and disposing of the oil. You don't have to wash the linen, but it must be dry when returned, since linen that comes back mildewed is billed at what it costs to replace. Pack everything back into its original boxes and containers, stacked, or repacking fees apply.
