Big Kart Track (Landsborough)4.4 (1418)

From $60pp

Work teams can race head to head on the hinterland track, with catering, theming and an MC added to suit the day.

How to Choose Go Kart Racing

Kart racing in the hinterland centres on Landsborough, where Big Kart Track runs an open-air circuit rather than an indoor arena. That shapes the day: racing goes ahead in the wet, and Friday and Saturday sessions run until 10pm.

What Landsborough's track offers a group:

A long layout with a chicane, a fast sweeper and three hairpins back to back, leaving room to overtake.
Fifty SODI karts, each on a 270cc motor, with four-point harnesses and full surround protection.
Group functions from $60 per person, shaped around catering, decorations, an MC or corporate theming.
Seven-day opening, with late racing on Fridays, Saturdays and through the Christmas holidays.
The option of using part of the track instead of the whole circuit for a smaller function.

Birthday groups and sports clubs are both listed, so a mixed crowd of friends works.
Hens and bucks nights are catered for, with the team shaping the function around the group.
Work parties and Christmas functions can add corporate theming and catering.
Team days are a listed occasion, and every race starts with a safety and operating talk from the crew.

Planning a race day on the hinterland circuit

Helmets: full face helmets are supplied at the track.
Weather: racing carries on in the rain, as the karts are run wet or dry.
Safety staff: marshals and duty managers hold first-aid qualifications.
Timing: decide whether a weekend night session or a daytime race suits your group better.
