About Big Kart Track

Big Kart Track is an outdoor go-kart circuit on Steve Irwin Way at Landsborough, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The layout mixes long straights with a chicane, a sweeping bend that tests your grip and three hairpins back to back, so there is room to overtake and plenty to master. The fleet is made up of 50 SODI karts, each running a 270cc motor with a four-point harness, head rest and full surround protection. Before every race the crew runs a safety and operating briefing, and drivers wear the full face helmets supplied at the track. Marshals and duty managers all hold first-aid qualifications. The track opens seven days a week, with racing until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays and in the Christmas holidays, and karts run in the wet too. For groups, the team shapes each function around you, from catering and decorations to an MC and corporate theming, and a function can use part of the track rather than all of it. Work parties, Christmas functions, birthday groups, sports clubs and hens and bucks nights are all catered for. Send an enquiry to plan a group race day.

Great morning out with teens. Easy to drive and safe. Great outdoor track with a good straight. Can get up to 70 easily and don’t need to take your foot off the pedal if you lean in to the corners.
