About Noosa River Cruise Co
Noosa River Cruise Co is a family business run by Richard and Tanya Wilschke, who have been taking guests out on the Noosa River for more than 20 years. Their small fleet includes a covered pontoon charter boat, an 11-seat water taxi and a classic Venetian-style gondola, and they also trade as Gondolas of Noosa. Private charters are booked by the hour, anywhere from one to eight hours, with a skipper who knows the quieter stretches of the river that you can only reach by boat. Groups can glide past Munna Point and the waterfront homes of Noosa Sound, stop at the Noosa North Shore for a picnic and a swim, or head upriver as far as Lake Cootharaba. Private sunset and evening cruises of one to three hours take up to 12 guests. The set-up suits smaller gatherings: corporate outings, wedding parties that need transfers or a small ceremony on board, vow renewals and anniversaries. Bring your own drinks and food, with ice, an esky and glasses supplied, or ask the team to organise catering. The gondola runs catered lunch and dinner cruises with share plates from a riverside restaurant, plus sunset cruises with a cheese platter for up to six. Most cruises board at the jetty in front of Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort off Hastings Street, and the crew can also collect your group from a riverside restaurant or the private jetty at your waterfront accommodation. How many guests can come on a private charter?
The pontoon charter boat takes about 10 guests for hourly charters and up to 12 for a private sunset or evening cruise, while the gondola suits two to six people.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes. Groups are welcome to bring their own drinks and a picnic, and the crew supplies ice, an esky and glassware. For a private booking, the team can organise catering too.
Where do the cruises leave from?
The main boarding point is the jetty at Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort off Hastings Street, Noosa Heads. Pick-ups from riverside restaurants and waterfront accommodation can also be arranged.
How long can a charter run?
Hourly private charters can be booked for anywhere from one to eight hours, while private sunset and evening cruises run for between one and three hours.
Is the boat wheelchair accessible?
The vessels aren't fully set up for wheelchairs because of the jetty and boat design, so mention any access needs when you send an enquiry and the team can talk through options.
