About Myr Films
Myr Films is the wedding filmmaking work of Michael, a Perth videographer and editor with more than 100 weddings filmed. His aim is a film that brings the day back the way it felt – the nerves, the sound of friends laughing and the moment the dance floor took over – rather than a polished version that never happened. The approach is candid and observant. Michael gives some direction when a couple needs it, but he is not there to turn the wedding into a set, so the couple can stay present with their guests while he records what unfolds around them. Each film blends three formats. Graded digital footage follows everything from the morning preparations to the final dance, real Super 8 film adds a grainy, nostalgic texture that cannot be faked in the edit, and a camcorder catches the raw energy of the dance floor and the moments in between. Short wedding edits are also shared alongside the full films. Recent Perth films include weddings at Brookleigh Estate in Upper Swan, Araluen Estate in Roleystone, Old Young's in the Swan Valley and a Fremantle celebration. Packages start from $4,500, and the brochure sets out each package and what it includes.
