About Power Audio Visual
Power Audio Visual is a Claremont hire house that started out as Power Music SVL and has supplied DJ equipment, audio, vision and lighting for about three decades. It works on everything from conferences and corporate roadshows to galas, presentation nights, graduations, live shows and small private functions. On the audio side the range runs from small portable PA systems to larger sound systems for events, along with DJ equipment, microphones, mixers and cabling. Lighting covers event and stage lighting, dance floor and FX lights, plus smoke machines. For presentations there are projectors, screens and medium to extra-large LCD and LED TVs. Stage work can be handled end to end, from lighting design and staging systems to truss and a full install and production service. Two cinema packages are offered: a home cinema pack with a retractable screen, projector, mixer and two 1000 watt powered speakers, and an outdoor version with a rear projection fast-fold screen and drape kit for groups of around 150. Hirers can pick up gear from the warehouse, and every item leaves tagged and tested. Delivery, set-up and pack-down are available for an extra charge, and the team takes calls 24 hours a day if something goes wrong on the night.

Can Power Audio Visual deliver and set up the equipment?
Yes. Delivery, set-up, operation and pack-down are all available as an additional charge, or hirers can collect the gear from the Claremont warehouse themselves and set it up.
Can I play music from my phone through the speakers?
Yes. A cable can connect your phone into the mixer, or a Bluetooth receiver can be added to the hire if you would rather stream wirelessly. Speaker packages come with the cables and hardware needed.
How many lights do I need for a dance floor?
It depends on the mood. A bright, colourful party look uses more lights, while a club feel may only need a couple of FX lights. The team advises once it knows the style of event.
What is in the outdoor cinema package?
It includes a rear projection fast-fold screen, a drape kit, a DVD player, a three-channel mixer, two 1000 watt powered speakers and all cables, and suits gatherings of around 150 people. A laptop can be connected with the right leads.
Is a bond needed to hire equipment?
A copy of a credit card or a $200 cash deposit is taken as security, along with a copy of current ID. Smoke machines will set off detectors, so they need to be isolated at the venue first.
