About Silent Groove
Silent Groove is a Perth silent disco hire business working from a pick-up point in North Beach. Hosts take home a kit of wireless headphones and transmitters, plug in their own music and turn a backyard, hall or function room into a dance floor that makes almost no noise outside the headsets. Each headset carries three channels, lit green, blue or red, and guests set their own volume, so friends can see who is on which playlist and swap at will. The standard kit includes three transmitters and cables that connect to a DJ deck, laptop, tablet or phone, with USB-C and Lightning adapters supplied. Music players with playlists already loaded can be added for hosts who would rather not build their own. The standard transmitters need a power point, and battery transmitters are available as an extra for parks, outdoor sites or a walking tour. Headsets come charged with about eight hours of play, and every item is checked, cleaned and counted before it goes out. Private parties are a dry hire: written instructions are emailed before the date, a demonstration is offered at collection and phone support is on hand. Larger community and corporate events can request set-up, pack-down, staff, music and lighting. Silent Groove works with kids and teen birthdays, adult parties, hens and bucks nights, engagements and weddings, school discos, vacation care, festivals and silent yoga.

Frequently asked questions
How does a Silent Groove silent disco work?
Three transmitters connect to your own music sources and send a separate playlist to each of the three headphone channels. Guests switch channels and adjust volume on their headset, and each channel glows its own colour.
How much does silent disco hire cost?
Kits start at $170 and the price rises with the number of headphones you need. Silent Groove suggests one headset for every guest so nobody misses out once the dancing starts.
Do I need power at the party?
The standard transmitters run off mains power. If the party is outdoors or somewhere without a socket, battery transmitters can be added to the booking for an extra $100.
How do I collect and return the equipment?
Kits are picked up from and returned to Silent Groove's North Beach location at an agreed time. Everything should be checked and packed back into the storage crates before it goes back.
What happens if a headset is damaged or lost?
The card used to book carries a pre-authorised bond. Replacement costs apply for headsets that are lost or broken, and you are told before any charge is made.
