About BattleKart Perth

BattleKart Perth runs augmented reality go-karting from an indoor arena on Alexander Drive in Malaga. Drivers take the wheel of real electric karts while ceiling projectors throw circuits, bonuses and hazards onto the floor. Sensors on each kart react to what is projected, so collecting a bonus square can load a rocket to fire at the kart ahead. Modes run from BattleRace lap racing and BattleFoot team soccer to BattlePool on a giant pool table, a snake game, a colour-claiming round and a co-operative fight against a growing virus. Up to 12 karts run at once, so most groups fit in a single game, and work teams can book the arena for team-building outings. Larger corporate groups can play a championship with an overall ranking, and the brand also hosts hens and bucks parties at its centres. A standard game runs for 15 minutes, including about two and a half minutes for boarding and leaving the pits. There is no minimum age, but every driver must be at least 145 centimetres tall, and no helmet is needed thanks to the karts' anti-collision system. Casual clothes that can handle a little track dust are the go, and a free photo booth sends snaps straight to your phone.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can race at BattleKart Perth at once?

Each game takes between two and 12 drivers. Bigger corporate groups can be spread across several games and run as a championship with an overall final ranking.

How much does a game at BattleKart Perth cost?

Prices are per person. A 10-minute intro game booked online is $37 and a full game is $65, with repeat games at $60 and then $55. Drivers under 16 who meet the height rule pay $49 for a game.

Is there an age limit for driving?

There is no minimum age, but every driver must be at least 145 centimetres tall because the karts are single seaters and a child cannot ride with an adult. Under-16 drivers may need ID for the junior price.

Do drivers need a helmet or special clothing?

No helmet is needed because the karts use an anti-collision system that brakes automatically. Casual clothes work well, since the karts kick up a bit of dust from the track floor.

How long does a game of BattleKart last?

A full game lasts 15 minutes, with about two and a half minutes of that used for boarding and leaving the pits. When the same drivers play back-to-back games they stay on the track and get a bonus race round instead.
