About Lumber Punks Perth
Lumber Punks Perth runs coached axe throwing from a warehouse on Kensington Street in East Perth. Twenty fully enclosed lanes sit under one roof, so each group throws in its own space with no axes coming from the next lane. The venue has free onsite parking and wheelchair access, and there is no minimum group size. Every session lasts 90 minutes and opens with a safety talk and a lesson in throwing technique. Coaches move between lanes giving individual tips before the group takes on The Gauntlet, then plays the house league game to decide a winner. Party passes for groups of 10, 15 or 20 add a welcome drink, a games book with extra challenges and a collectors pin for the top thrower. Hens and bucks parties, workplace team building and end-of-year Christmas get-togethers all have their own options, and groups of up to 80 can take the whole venue on an exclusive-use package. The venue is alcohol-free by choice, but staff can point groups to partner venues nearby, including Whipper Snapper Distillery and Bright Tank Brewing, for drinks once the throwing ends. Throwers must be 18 or over, or 14 to 17 with a parent or legal guardian present and throwing alongside them.

Frequently asked questions
How much does axe throwing cost at Lumber Punks Perth?
Sessions are $55 a person for groups of one to 14 throwers and $50 a person once a group reaches 15. Payment is taken on arrival, there is no deposit, and guests are welcome to split the bill.
Is there a minimum age to throw?
Throwers need to be 18 or older. Teenagers aged 14 to 17 can take part if a parent or court-appointed legal guardian co-signs the waiver and is present and throwing in the same session.
Can we drink alcohol during the session?
No. The venue has chosen not to hold a liquor licence for safety reasons, and anyone affected by alcohol or drugs cannot throw. Staff can suggest partner bars, a brewery and a distillery nearby for drinks afterwards.
What should we wear?
Enclosed shoes are required on the lanes. The axes and all other gear are supplied, and the coaches adjust the technique to suit each thrower rather than relying on strength.
How big a group can the East Perth venue host?
There is no minimum group size, and party passes are set up for 10, 15 or 20 people. Bigger groups can book exclusive use of the venue, with packages for up to 40 guests and for 41 to 80 guests.
