About ICON AV
ICON AV is an audio visual production company based in Bayswater, Perth. It hires out and operates lighting, sound, screens and staging for corporate functions, galas, conferences, concerts and private celebrations, keeping design, equipment and crew in-house. On the lighting side the range covers moving heads, LED wash and linear fixtures, IP-rated units for outdoor sites, battery-powered uplights, strobes and warm or cool LED festoon strings in 10 and 20 metre lengths. Designers plan the look around the brand or theme, and operators can run it through the night. Sound starts with a portable Bose battery speaker and builds to full PA systems with digital mixing consoles, subwoofers, wired and wireless microphones and pro DJ players and mixers. Staging uses modular decks in two sizes with legs from 40 to 140 centimetres, ramps, safety rails and skirts, plus truss, a certified lifting tower and three-phase power distribution. Small stage risers can also be taken on a do-it-yourself basis. The team works in three steps – define the brief, design a solution, deliver it with its own gear and staff – and liaises with venues and other suppliers. Past jobs include a car dealer gala night, a medical students' conference in Fremantle, a university hall end-of-year party and a festival theatre season in a hall with no fixed lighting or sound. Technical documents can be prepared when an event needs approval.
