About Amazing Mr Twist

Amazing Mr Twist is the stage name of Dan, a Melbourne magician who works as a one-person act for children's parties, family events, weddings and corporate functions. His shows lean on comedy first, mixing sleight of hand with live doves, a ventriloquist parrot puppet called Percy, controlled fire effects and a lot of audience involvement. For kids' birthdays, schools and community days, the show is aimed at roughly ages three to twelve. Children are brought up to help with tricks, Percy the parrot does his slapstick routine, and the set can finish with a big balloon rainbow. Balloon twisting can be added on request, and face painting is available as an extra depending on numbers and time. For grown-up crowds he offers roving close-up magic during drinks – cards, coins and borrowed objects worked for small groups – along with stage spots after dinner and full theatre-style shows for galas, presentation nights and end-of-year events. Material is kept clean and brand-safe for corporate rooms. Themed bookings are a speciality. Captain Twist is a full pirate character with cutlass and parrot sidekick, the Wizard brings robes, wands and a live rabbit reveal, and a gothic horror show with makeup and stage effects suits Halloween parties. Performance length runs from a short cocktail-hour set to a 60-minute headline spot, and the act brings its own sound, props and staging. Public liability cover and invoicing are in place for venues and event teams, so send an enquiry with your date and event type for a quote.
