About Rapture Band
Rapture Band is a Melbourne covers band that plays dance, pop, rock and jazz at weddings, corporate functions and private celebrations. The core line-up is a five-piece of drums, bass, keyboards and male and female vocals, and it can grow into a horn-section big band or shrink to a duo or trio for smaller rooms. Corporate work is a big part of the band's calendar: dinner dances, Christmas parties, product launches and presentation nights. Themed shows can be slotted into the evening, including a Broadway set, a 50s and 60s rock and roll bandstand, a swinging retro show, a West End set and a Gatsby party package with roving characters and dancers. For weddings the band has played reception venues and hotels all over Melbourne, and for private clients it covers birthday parties and other celebrations. The iCandy duo or trio with DJ backing tracks suits gatherings of around 30 to 200 guests, while the larger line-ups are pitched at rooms of 150 to 500. A PA system can be supplied for an extra fee, or the band works with a venue's in-house production team. A stage is recommended but not essential, and a meal for the musicians is part of the booking. Prices are quoted per event – send an enquiry with your date, venue and guest numbers.

Frequently asked questions
What line-ups can Rapture Band provide?
The base band is a five-piece with drums, bass, keyboards and male and female vocals. Options include a three-piece horn section, two to four dancers, extra guitar, sax or percussion, a big band, or the iCandy duo or trio.
Does Rapture Band supply the sound system?
A PA can be provided for an additional fee. Some venues have in-house production, and the quote spells out whether the PA is included or needs to be arranged separately.
Do we need to hire a stage for the band?
It is not compulsory, but the band recommends one because it gives the musicians a stronger presence and lets guests see the performance clearly.
What themed shows are available?
Themed sets include a Broadway show, a West End show, a 50s and 60s rock and roll bandstand, a swinging retro show and a Gatsby party package, which can be mixed into a night of dancing.
Does the band need a meal at the event?
Yes. In most cases the organiser provides a meal for the band members, following a hospitality rider the band can send through before the event.

Highly recommend! Amazing. We recently had Rapture Band play at our companies 15yo birthday with 150 guests. They created a great atmosphere that had everyone dancing the night away! Thank you!
