About Wild Flower Gin
Wild Flower Gin is a small distillery and cellar door in Varsity Lakes, started by a beekeeper who wanted to bring his two hobbies together. Honey from his hives goes into the signature gin. Groups can book in to make their own spirit, learn cocktails or simply taste the range. The gin masterclass is built for beginners. The team runs through the history of gin and how botanicals work, then each person selects a blend and distils it on a 2.5 litre copper alembic still. Everyone leaves with a 500 ml bottle of their creation, and the distillery's own gin is poured along the way. The cocktail masterclass suits 8 to 15 people and takes about 90 minutes. It starts with a gin and tonic, a mixologist then teaches two cocktails using house gin and vodka, and specialty cheese and cracker boards are served. The distillery names hens nights, birthdays and team building as the natural fit. Private tastings are led by the team and explain the flavour profile of each gin. For a bigger gathering, the distillery itself takes parties or corporate functions of up to 30 guests. Drinks are the point of the day, so the distillery suggests organising a drop-off, rideshare or taxi. Off site, it also hires out pop-up bars and a caravan bar for events. Yes. Specialty cheese and cracker boards are provided during the cocktail masterclass, alongside a welcome gin and tonic and the two cocktails your group learns to make.
How should we get to and from the distillery?
Tastings are part of each class, so the distillery recommends arranging a drop-off, rideshare or taxi rather than driving. That way everyone can enjoy what they make.
