About Sandbar
Sandbar is a restaurant and bar on the Esplanade at Surfers Paradise, right by the beach. It serves breakfast through to dinner, and its function side is built around an easy, alfresco style of celebration. Four areas can be booked. The Sandbar Cafe holds 120 standing or 80 seated, the Lawn and Lounge takes 220 standing or 160 seated, and the Restaurant suits 200 standing or 100 seated. For a bigger crowd, hiring the entire place joins the café, lawn and lounge for up to 500 standing or 300 seated. That option is often chosen for corporate functions, brand launches and milestone birthdays. The Lawn and Lounge looks towards the beach, with high tables under umbrellas, booths and direct access to the bar. The café pairs tables on the outside lawn with booths indoors, and a side entrance lets guests arrive away from the main floor. Food runs from shared platters such as seafood, sliders, yum cha and skewers to a set menu served as an alternating drop. Choose two dishes for each course, with low gluten, vegetarian and vegan dishes marked on the menu. Drinks can be arranged as a timed package with tap beer and house wine, or as a bar tab that runs on consumption. The set menu offers entrées such as smoked salmon roulade or salt and pepper squid, mains such as rump steak or grilled barramundi, and desserts such as sticky date pudding. Low gluten, low dairy, vegetarian and vegan dishes are marked, and the kitchen asks to be told about allergies.
