About Aviary Rooftop Bar
Aviary Rooftop Bar sits on top of a hotel on Melia Court in Southport, high enough to take in the Surfers Paradise skyline on one side and the hinterland on the other. It is an over 18s venue with a smart casual dress code, so it suits grown-up celebrations. Two areas can be booked for an event. The Deck is an indoor space with big windows that feels semi-private while keeping the buzz of the main bar. The Nest is the outdoor option, a green rooftop patch that works for afternoon sun and for dancing once it gets dark. Anyone wanting the place to themselves can ask about hiring the full venue, and one past host used it that way for an engagement party. The kitchen is built around handmade Italian pizzas from a woodfired oven and tapas-style plates, with cocktails as the bar's focus. Event packages are ready to go, and the team is happy to adjust them to suit your plans. On a normal week the rooftop trades from Wednesday to Sunday, with live musicians on the weekend and DJs on Friday and Saturday nights. To start planning, send an enquiry with your date, your guest numbers and the area you have in mind.

Frequently asked questions
Which areas can be booked for a private event?
There are three choices: The Deck, which is indoors and semi-private, The Nest, which is outdoors on the rooftop, or the full venue.
Is Aviary suitable for all ages?
No. It runs as an over 18s venue, and a smart casual dress code applies, so plan your guest list with that in mind.
What food is served at events?
The menu centres on handmade woodfired pizzas and tapas-style dishes, and vegetarian pizzas feature too. Ready-made event packages are available and can be adjusted with the events team.
What will guests see from the rooftop?
Guests look across to the high-rises of Surfers Paradise and back towards the hinterland. The Deck has large windows facing that view, while The Nest is open air.
What kinds of events does the venue take?
The enquiry form lists birthdays, special occasions, corporate events and high teas. Other ideas can be described on the form as well.
