About Cliffhangers Entertainment
Cliffhangers Entertainment began on the Gold Coast in 1984, started by a DJ who had already worked local venues such as The Playroom and The Patch. It has since played well over 12,000 functions, and it works from a shopfront office in the middle of the Gold Coast that clients can visit. A small team of DJs handles everything from dinner music to a full dance floor. They carry current songs alongside decades of classics, and themed nights such as 70s disco or 80s parties are easy to arrange. Every DJ brings a sound system and a minimum of three lighting effects. Weddings are a big part of the work, with more than 3,500 played. Options run from a 3-hour booking to a full day of music, and you can add an MC, a singer and guitarist, uplighting, a dry ice effect, a monogram or giant LOVE letters. The DJ will help with song choices ahead of time and can handle light MC duties at no extra charge. The other half of the business is hire. Retro karaoke jukeboxes are popular for home parties, with a long list of classic Aussie songs and a simple set-up that guests can use themselves. A photo booth can be added to a DJ booking, and slushie machines with 20 flavours are delivered, set up, collected and cleaned by the team. Send an enquiry with your date and venue for a quote.

What events do Cliffhangers DJs play?
They cover weddings, corporate events, 18ths, 21sts, 30ths, 40ths and 50ths, school formals, anniversaries and Christmas work parties. Themed nights such as 70s disco or 80s parties are also fine.
Can we hire a karaoke jukebox without a DJ?
Yes. The karaoke jukeboxes are a hire service in their own right, with a large selection of classic Aussie songs and a machine that is easy for guests to use. A slushie machine can be added to the same booking.
Will the DJ play the songs we ask for?
Yes. The DJs work in with you and are happy to play the songs you want. For weddings, the team can also meet you beforehand to help choose music for moments such as the bridal dance and cake cutting.
Do we need a separate MC for our wedding?
Not always. A Cliffhangers DJ can do light MC duties for no extra charge, using the cordless microphone provided with each DJ hire. A dedicated MC who runs the whole reception is also available as an option.
How does slushie machine hire work?
You choose from about 20 flavours, and the team delivers the machine, sets it up and checks it is working. Cups and straws are included, and the team collects and cleans it afterwards.
