About Explosive Entertainment
Explosive Entertainment is a DJ and MC group with its headquarters on the Gold Coast. Over roughly 30 years its team has mixed more than 10,000 events of every size, so most kinds of room and crowd are familiar territory. The music works whichever way you like. An online portal lets you choose songs, group them under headings such as Must Play and Dinner, and mark anything on a do-not-play list. You can change it until a day before the event, or pick a handful of must-haves and leave the rest to your DJ. DJs play open format, moving between styles to suit the guests in front of them. With your permission they will also take requests on the night. Weddings make up a large share of the work, from ceremony music through to the last dance. The team also plays engagement parties, 18ths, 21sts and other milestone birthdays, house parties, boat parties, school graduations and corporate events such as gala nights, conferences, product launches and end-of-year functions. An MC can be added to run speeches and keep the timeline moving, and any DJ can double in the role. Optional extras include photo booths, karaoke with a host, venue uplighting, projectors, cold sparks and a dry ice effect for a first dance. Can we choose the songs Explosive Entertainment plays?
Yes. An online playlist builder lets you add songs under categories such as Must Play, Dinner and Do Not Play, and you can keep editing until 24 hours before the event. You can also choose only a few hits and leave the rest to the DJ.
Will the DJ take requests from guests?
Yes, as long as you have given your permission. Anything on your do-not-play list stays off the dance floor, whoever asks for it.
Can the DJ also be our MC?
Yes. The team's DJs can double as MCs, and an MC add-on can be attached to an existing DJ package, covering 5 hours of MC presence with a wireless microphone for speeches.
What happens if equipment fails on the night?
Playlists are saved both online and on paper, and spares of critical components come along to the event. Larger spare gear is held at the Gold Coast headquarters.
Do they play school events?
Yes. School discos and graduations are played by blue card-licensed DJs, who can mix clean songs chosen for schools or follow your own list, with lighting and photo booths available as extras.
