About Cooly Bowls Club
Cooly Bowls Club has been part of Coolangatta since 1949, and it sits on Scott Street beside Goodwin Park in the middle of town. The club keeps things casual and family minded, which makes it an easy choice for a mixed group of friends, workmates or relatives. Birthdays, Christmas parties and work functions are all named as reasons to book a game. Barefoot bowls is priced low and covers the bowls plus a few pointers to get everyone started. Children under 12 play free, and kid-sized bowls are on hand. Sundays are the main barefoot day, with bowls available all day and music playing across the greens as the afternoon winds down and the drinks keep flowing. The modern electric BBQs are free to use and come with cooking tools and a fridge, though they do need to be booked ahead, so mention them when you send an enquiry. Inside, the main bar pours local craft beers, cocktails and seltzers. Feng Shui, the Chinese restaurant in the club, serves a la carte and banquet menus at lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday.
