About Club Mermaid
Club Mermaid is the home of Mermaid Beach Bowls, a community club whose first green opened in 1962. Barefoot bowls costs $10 a person, and your group gets up to two hours outdoors on natural grass. The game suits any fitness level, and the rules are simple enough to pick up on the first end. For small groups, one package covers bowls for up to six people, a sharing platter of wings, party pies, chips and sausage rolls, and two jugs of beer for $150. Bigger groups can choose from the functions platter menu, and the bar staff can set up a tab for the occasion. The large function room is available for hire when you want an indoor base or a sit-down event. The club lists birthdays, hens, bucks and corporate events among its bookings, and it names team building as a good fit for barefoot bowls. Bookings are essential, and because the club is fully licensed, no alcohol can be brought in. Send an enquiry with your date and numbers to check the greens are free on the day.

How much does barefoot bowls cost at Club Mermaid?
It costs $10 a person for up to two hours on the green. A package for up to six people adds a sharing platter and two jugs of beer for $150 in total.
Is there an age limit for barefoot bowls?
Children under 9 are not permitted to play or go on the greens, and they must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times while at the club.
What should we wear?
You can play barefoot or in flat-soled shoes or thongs. Footwear is required everywhere else in the clubhouse, and the club asks for neat, tidy clothing, with swimwear not allowed inside.
Can we bring our own drinks?
No. The club is fully licensed, so alcohol cannot be brought onto the premises. Bar staff can set up a tab for your function, and a functions platter menu covers the food.
Can we hire a room as well as the greens?
Yes. The club hires out a large function room as well as offering barefoot bowls packages, and either one can be fully catered. Send an enquiry to work out the right mix for your group.
