About Padlock'd Escape Rooms
Padlock'd is a locally owned escape room business, started on the Gold Coast by owner Sean Wilson and run with a local team. Its Surfers Paradise Boulevard site houses rooms such as The Carnival, The Museum Heist, The School of Magic and The Forbidden Jungle, along with the scarier Doll House, Nightmare and Freakshow. For company outings, the operator takes bookings of 10 or more and can move 10 to 57 people through a game inside about 90 minutes. Bigger groups take around two hours or spread across its other Surfers Paradise venues, up to 90 players per 90 minutes. Teams can name a preferred room when they enquire, or leave the choice to the staff. The foyer is roomy, with seating, board games and a bar, which keeps waiting teams occupied between rounds. Drinks packages and platters such as artisan, fruit, wraps, Mediterranean and sweets can be added, and platters need seven days' notice. Games are not physical, and most run for 60 minutes. Scarier rooms use actors and jump scares and are limited to players aged 12 and over. Other rooms suit families, and at least one player in each team has to be over 15. The venue also publishes a detailed guide to wheelchair, Auslan and epilepsy-friendly rooms, which helps when planning for a mixed team. Send an enquiry with your numbers and preferred date to plan the day.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can Padlock'd host for a company event?
Groups from 10 to 57 can play within about 90 minutes at one venue. Larger numbers take around two hours or split across its Surfers Paradise venues, with up to 90 players per 90 minutes.
What does a group booking cost?
A standard 60-minute room is $60 for players aged 15 and over. The standard drinks package is $65 with one game and one drink, and the premium package with an hour of unlimited drinks starts at $85.
Can we have food and drinks at the venue?
Yes. The foyer has a fully stocked bar, and platters can be ordered for before or after the game. Orders need to be placed seven days ahead so they are ready on the day.
How many players fit in one room?
Most rooms take teams of two to between six and eight, depending on the room, and teams of four or five tend to do well. The Carnival takes eight, and larger groups can split and race head to head.
Are the rooms suitable for everyone?
There is a range of scary and non-scary rooms, and the scariest require every player to be 12 or older. Rooms are recommended from age 10, and an accessibility guide lists wheelchair, Auslan and epilepsy-friendly options.
