About GC Charters
GC Charters is a small owner-hosted operation: Pete skippers, drawing on more than 50 years at sea, and Lee looks after the hosting. Their boat is MV Dooley, a 12-metre power catamaran kept at Sanctuary Cove, and a group of up to 12 has it to themselves. That size suits a hens group, a family birthday or a handful of clients better than a big function boat. The layout gives people options. There are sun lounges on the front deck, a covered flybridge beside the skipper, and an aft deck with a fridge, sink and barbecue. Inside is an air-conditioned cabin and two bathrooms, and a hot shower at the stern takes care of the salt after a dip. Music runs through a Bluetooth sound system, and Spotify is set up on a tablet. Time on board can be short or long. Morning, afternoon and sunset cruises each run three hours, a one-hour taster suits a quick toast, and a four-hour package heads towards the Sovereign Islands or South Stradbroke Island with a lunch and swim stop at Wave Break Island. A six-hour trip goes further north to Jumpinpin. Food and drinks can be BYO, with ice and non-breakable glassware supplied, or the crew can arrange platters and beverage packages, including alcohol-free ones. Decorations, floral styling and a photographer are available by request, and paddleboards, snorkels and inflatable loungers come out on selected charters. Children aged five and over are welcome, and many bookings are adults-only celebrations.

Frequently asked questions
How many guests fit on MV Dooley?
The enquiry form caps groups at 12 guests, and the boat is reserved for your party alone, so nobody else joins your cruise.
Where can we be picked up?
The boat is based at Pier B, Sanctuary Cove, and also collects from Muriel Henchman Park, Pelican Beach Boat Ramp and the public wharf at Broadwater Parklands. Other pick-ups may be arranged on request.
Can children come on the charter?
Yes, from age five. Children should be able to swim and stay in their parents' care, and the crew can make the catering platters family friendly.
Can we swim from the catamaran?
Yes, on private charters once the boat is safely at anchor. The party pad is available for time in the water, and there is a hot shower for rinsing off afterwards.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
The catamaran has sheltered space in the cabin, flybridge and rear deck, so light rain is manageable. When adverse conditions are forecast, you are offered the choice to reschedule or cancel.
