About Beachcomber Charters
Beachcomber is a small charter boat that works the Gold Coast Broadwater, running fishing and whale trips as well as private cruises for celebrations. Its own list of occasions covers birthdays, hens and bucks parties, engagements, Christmas events and corporate functions. The usual party trip is a three-hour private cruise for up to 12 guests. Guests climb aboard from the sand at Lionel Perry Park using the front ladder, then head along the Nerang River and over the Broadwater to Wave Break Island. At anchor there is an Aqua Lily Mat to float on and clear water for a swim, while your own playlist runs through the Bluetooth system. A four-hour version adds a glass of prosecco for adults or a soft drink, along with fishing rods for anyone keen to cast a line. It passes Marina Mirage and the Southport Yacht Club on the way out, and South Stradbroke Island can replace Wave Break as the destination if you ask the crew. Groups can dress the boat up, too. Custom decorations are available, and the signature pink flamingo is a favoured prop for party photos. Platters, wraps and sweet treats can be organised for an added charge, and drinks you bring go into the large iced esky. There is a private marine toilet on board. Near the end of the year, a two-hour private festive charter leaves Runaway Bay at 6 pm to take in the sunset and the Christmas lights along the canals. How many people can come on a private cruise?
The private Broadwater cruises are advertised for up to 12 guests. Trips that head offshore into open water are limited to six, so tell the crew your numbers when you enquire and they will confirm the fit.
Where does the boat pick up?
Party cruises usually board from the beach at Lionel Perry Park in Surfers Paradise, while evening festive trips leave from Runaway Bay. Jetty pickups around Surfers Paradise and Main Beach can be arranged on request.
Can we bring our own drinks and order food?
Yes. A large ice-filled esky holds what you bring, and champagne flutes and wine glasses are supplied. Food such as platters, wraps and sweet treats can be arranged by the crew at an added cost.
What is there to do when the boat stops?
At Wave Break Island you can walk ashore using the front ladder, swim, or float on the Aqua Lily Mat. Fishing rods are on board for the longer cruise, and the crew can talk through other stops.
Can the boat be decorated for a birthday or hens party?
Yes, custom decorations can be organised, and the signature pink flamingo inflatable comes along for party groups. Mention the occasion when you enquire so the crew can plan the styling with you.
