About Lava Lounge @ Burdekin Hotel
The Burdekin Hotel's Lava Lounge, a semi-private room, is designed for music and socialising more than a seated dinner. The building's heritage features are still there, with brick walls left bare, timber floorboards, arched openings and windows of frosted glass, joined by retro fixtures and alcove seating that split the room into cosier corners. The floor is flexible: keep the lounge seating out for a laid-back night, or clear it to dance. A dedicated DJ area sits alongside a PA and speakers, and you're welcome to hire in a DJ or use your own playlist. A flatscreen TV, Wi-Fi and air conditioning are provided, the lounge is wheelchair accessible, and natural light comes in through the windows. Capacity is 140 standing or 50 seated. The Burdekin, a long-standing fixture of the Oxford Street strip in Darlinghurst, has several event spaces, so its kitchen and bar staff are practised at running functions while the rest of the hotel trades.
