About Noosa Mountain Horse
Noosa Mountain Horse is a riding and training centre on 30 acres of tropical land at Cooroy Mountain, in the hinterland behind Noosa. The property has an Olympic-size indoor arena, private riding trails and a team with decades of experience matching riders to horses. Guided trail rides wind around the property, and riders pick the pace while staff choose a horse that suits each person's ability. Trail rides are open to riders aged 8 and over, and groundwork and horsemanship can be added. A 90-minute twilight or morning experience for two combines groundwork, a private lesson each and a trail ride, and a one-hour pony experience suits children up to 8. For groups, the centre puts together tailored packages, and its own list covers kids birthday parties, corporate team building and small private groups, so the day can be shaped around who is coming. Riders need a fitted helmet, which the team can usually lend if you ask before the day. Boots with a small heel or closed shoes without laces, plus full-length stretchy pants, are enough for a first ride, and every rider signs a waiver before mounting up.
