About Adventure Tribe

Adventure Tribe is an outdoor adventure company with its shopfront on Boreen Parade in Boreen Point, beside Lake Cootharaba. Its Grabrock team runs abseiling and rock climbing, while its Kanu Kapers arm guides half-day and full-day kayak trips into the Noosa Everglades, with a brunch stop on the shorter tour. Groups can join a scheduled session or arrange a private outing built around their own plans. Sunset abseiling happens on Mt Tinbeerwah, where qualified guides rig ropes on cliffs of 40 to 50 metres overlooking the hinterland. Every piece of equipment and all instruction are included, no experience is needed, and you can keep going down for the length of the session. Abseilers must be at least seven years old, and groups meet in the Mt Tinbeerwah car park. For workplaces, the team builds outdoor programs for groups of 10 or more around activities such as raft building and racing on Lake Cootharaba, canoe tug-of-war, blindfold trust challenges and a wilderness picnic. Christmas functions, staff reward days and multi-day retreats can also be put together. Send an enquiry to plan a date for your group.

Frequently asked questions

How much does sunset abseiling cost?

A scheduled sunset abseil is $95 a person. Groups of four or more booking into a scheduled session get a discounted rate, and private sessions are priced on application.

Is there a minimum age or health requirement for abseiling?

Abseilers must be at least seven. The team advises against it for people with severe asthma, epilepsy, heart or breathing conditions, high blood pressure or joint problems, and no one can take part under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

What should we wear for abseiling?

Enclosed shoes such as sneakers, snug activewear with no crop tops or loose clothing, and long hair tied back. Bring a water bottle, and wear clothes you do not mind getting scuffed on the rock.

Where do the activities start?

Abseiling groups meet in the Mt Tinbeerwah car park at the end of Tinbeerwah Road. Half-day guided kayak tours leave from Boreen Parade in Boreen Point, across from the sailing club.

Can you run a team-building day for our company?

Yes. Corporate programs are designed for teams of 10 or more and can include strategy games, trust exercises, a search and rescue simulation, raft racing on Lake Cootharaba and a rotating Adventure Olympics.
